Dr. Lara Brunori
European (EBVS) and RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care
I graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Bologna in 2009. After several years in mixed practice, working with horses and small animals, I completed the Vets Now Cutting Edge programme in April 2018 and joined the Vets Now Southampton clinic as an out-of-hours veterinary surgeon.
In April 2019, I obtained my CertAVP in Emergency and Critical Care and moved to Glasgow, where I completed a rotating internship followed by an internship in Emergency and Critical Care at the Vets Now 24/7 Pet Emergency Hospital.
I then undertook an ECVECC residency in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the same hospital, from January 2021 to January 2024. In October 2024, I gained European (EBVS) and RCVS specialist status in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. I’m currently working as a senior ECC clinician at Vets Now Glasgow.
My main clinical interests include coagulation, transfusion medicine, sepsis and extracorporeal therapies.
I joined EcoPet because I am passionate about supporting veterinary colleagues who are taking their first steps in emergency practice. Managing emergency cases can feel daunting, particularly early in your career, and I believe that accessible, practical teaching and the opportunity to discuss cases openly can make a real difference.
Through EcoPet, I would like to share my experience and help colleagues develop their clinical reasoning, build confidence and find a structured approach to the emergency patient. I want to contribute to a learning environment where vets feel comfortable asking questions, discussing uncertainty and learning from one another, with the shared aim of improving care for our patients.
