Dr. Damiàn Nieto Aldeano

DVM, GP.Cert.(DI)

Head of the Radiology Department, Hospital Veterinario Madrid Centro

About Me / Bio

I graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Murcia in 2013. I began my career in small animal clinical practice through an internship in Pavia, Italy. I later specialized in diagnostic imaging, earning my General Practitioner Certificate in Diagnostic Imaging (GPCert(DI)) from the ESVPS in September 2018. Since then, I have developed and advanced my expertise working in referral hospitals and specialized centers across Madrid.

Currently, I head the Radiology Department at the Hospital Veterinario Madrid Centro, while also working as a freelance consultant, interpreting and reporting computed tomography scans, radiographs, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and ultrasounds.

In addition to my clinical work, I have a strong background in education. I have served as a lecturer for an online Master’s program in "Small Animal Veterinary Radiology" and as a collaborator in hands-on courses focusing on abdominal ultrasound and echocardiography.

To further solidify my commitment to the highest standards in the field, I am currently in the process of obtaining my Accreditation in Diagnostic Imaging from AVEPA, which represents the highest level of specialty recognition in Spain.

Why I am joining Ecopet

I am thrilled to join the Ecopet project because it aligns perfectly with my passion for education and collaborative growth. As a Spanish specialist joining an international initiative, I am incredibly motivated by the opportunity to break down borders and share knowledge globally. I firmly believe that high-quality diagnostic imaging education should be accessible to everyone, and being part of this multicultural team allows us to elevate the standards of veterinary medicine together.
